General Information about Dr. Benson's Office

Your Appointment
Our office hours are from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 am until noon. Dr. Benson performs most surgeries on Monday. Extended hours are available to accommodate your schedule. Dr. Benson is on-call for emergencies, but makes every effort to schedule his medical services between these hours.

We recognize the value of your time and will make every effort to maintain a schedule of appointments. If your scheduled visit must be delayed because of an emergency (surgery or delivery), we will make every effort to notify you before you arrive at the office so you may reschedule. If you have an emergency, we will make every effort to see you at the earliest possible time.

Please schedule your elective appointments several weeks in advance, and strive to arrive at your appointment 15 minutes early. During this "pre-visit" time, we may have questions or information for you which will make your examination time with Dr. Benson more efficient and thorough, and will also leave an adequate amount of time for discussion and questions with the doctor. If you cannot keep your appointment, or if you are going to be late, please call us at (979) 776-1660 as early as possible so we can reschedule your visit and make your time slot available to another patient.

Our Support Staff
The Benson OB/Gyn Center is comprised of a concerned and caring staff. Please feel comfortable including all of our staff members in your confidence. If you need to call our office with questions regarding your medical care, most often our receptionists will take a message and Dr. Benson's nurse will return your call. His nurse is available to professionally assist Dr. Benson in gathering information from you and to relay pertinent information to him. Once again, your personal and medical history are strictly confidential, and will NOT be released to anyone without your written consent.

Questions, Concerns and Discussions
We strive to understand and accommodate your specific medical and emotional needs. Please do not hesitate to question, discuss and express your concerns to Dr. Benson. Dr. Benson has found that it is helpful if you write down your questions prior to each visit with him. By keeping an open line of communication, we hope to make you feel comfortable and assured that you are receiving the best possible care.

This concern for your well-being also includes your physical comfort and privacy. Please inform Dr. Benson if you feel any discomfort before, during or after your examination.

Children
We love to see your newborns! Once they start to walk, our office is not equipped to have children. Your visit with Dr. Benson will be much more productive for you if you do not bring your child. We will ask you to reschedule your appointment if you bring your child with you.

The exception to this rule is if you would like to bring your child/children with you to your OB ultrasound. Please call our office in advance to notify the staff of your intentions.
